A Brief History
Assembly of God Church School is an English Medium Christian Minority Unaided School established and founded in 1958 by a Missionary lady Sister Alta Wycoff. She was a pioneer and longed to help the community where there was no mission, Assemblies of God Mission owes a great debt of love to this lovely lady.
In 1959 she founded the Assembly of God Church School – Primary Section. From 1978 Rev. Stanley Swarnakar and Mrs. Swapna Swarnakar took over the great responsibility and dedicated their service and upgraded the school upto class 8. As our Motto like our SAVIOR AND MASTER IS: “TO SERVE AND NOT BE SERVED”, they worked relentlessly to upgrade the standards of education. Endeavoring as they do to go onward and forward to fly the A.G. Banner high, they had the School recognized and affiliated as an ICSE (10) and ISC (12) school with the high academic excellence. Efforts are made to help develop each student’s intellectual abilities to the utmost, not just simply helping to amass a lot of information to get a job but to urge him towards self-discipline, self-realization and character- formation with initiative, integrity and accuracy to thought to be an all-round developed-individual, a balanced personality with a good moral and spiritual training.
The School is being recognized by the Department of Education, Government of West Bengal and affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi, for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE-10yr) and Indian School Certificate (ISC-12yr) that is recognized by the Universities throughout India.
